Indian archery reigned supreme at the 11th South Asian Games archery competition in Dhaka. The four-day competition held at BKSP, Savar, about 40 k.m. from Dhaka, proved to be India's gold mine as the regional super power swept all the four gold medals on offer.
Tarundeep Rai of Services and Dola Banerjee of Railways emerged the individual champions. India won both the team gold medals. Laishram Bombayla Devi won a silver in women's individual recurve event and Jayanta Talukdar picked up the bronze medal in the men's event.
Archery as a sport was introduced at Colombo in 2006 where India won all the four gold and two silver medals.
